Job Description
CWS Logistics requires a TRANSPORT TRAILER TECHNICIAN for our Winnipeg shop.<br>We have a fleet of 200 heated and dry van trailers that we maintain at our Winnipeg shop. We offer benefits, RRSP matching and weekday only shifts. Boot allowance is offered after 1 successful year of employment. PPE is provided and many shop specific tools also provided.<br><br>Qualifications:<ul><li>Safety inspection certificate an asset.</li><li>Journeyman certificate an asset.</li><li>1st, 2nd and 3rd year apprentice proven experience. </li><li>Welding experience an asset.</li><li>Experience with 53' van trailers.</li><li>Experience on Solara Heater units an asset.</li><li>Drivers License 5 and or Class 1A license an asset.</li><li>No existing allergy to agriculture chemicals or pesticides.</li><li>Must be able to read, write and speak basic English.</li><li>Must be able to do basic math calculations. </li><li>Capable of using diagnostic tools and computer.</li><li>Must have full set of hand tools.</li><li>Excellent focus and attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to work as a team and independently.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50lbs.</li><li>Ability to wear various personal protective equipment (PPE) including fall protection.</li><li>Will be trained on TDG, WHMIS, forklift and first-aid.</li></ul>
Duties:<ul><li>Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on van trailers and converter dollies.</li><li>Perform MPI (Manitoba) standard safety inspections for commercial vehicles.</li><li>Follow work order/repair process and documentations.</li><li>Inspect and test mechanical units such as: lights, air systems, axles and ABS brake systems.</li><li>Adjust, repair, replace parts/components of trailer systems including: frame, body, engines, fuel system, electrical systems on Solara heaters.</li><li>Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of trailer systems including structural, brake and electrical systems.</li><li>Comply and participate with Canada Labour Code Part II (health and safety regulations).</li><li>Comply to CWS policies and procedures as well as industry standards.</li><li>Report near misses and accidents.</li><li>Perform all other duties assigned by manager.</li><li>Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of their workstation and shop, parts-room and yard.</li></ul>
